yeah, i know it's not the most orgional of concepts. (by that i mean drawing the comparison between DMs and God.) but noone ever says to the figure artist painting a reclining nude that it's been done before. and the same goes for other areas of the fine arts. so why should comics, which sadly arn't always granted the same level of respect as the "fine arts" be held to a higher standard of originality? now i'm not saying we cartoonists should just copy each-other. no. i'm saying there are certain themes in humor that are much like certain themes in fine arts. everyone should be allowed to explore the themes in their own particular ways without being labeled as unoriginal or a copycat.
Dude, I totally agree, it totally sucks that cartoonists are seen as "lesser artists". It takes a good amount of skill to get a cartoon character to look like a specific individual.
I totally love yoru style and your cartoons always make me laugh my butt off...

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
